In line with the Victorian Government’s recent announcement detailing the easing of restrictions for community sport, Rugby Victoria is pleased to say that Rugby is returning to the fields of Victoria.

2020 has been a tough year for us all but if this pandemic has showed us anything, it is that Victorians can come together, work as a team and achieve something that very few countries in the world have.

We would like to thank the Rugby community for supporting and being there for each other during the difficult days of lockdown.

The COVID Safe Plan specific to the community sport and recreation sector is now available here.

This is an extremely important tool, as community sport and recreation workplaces, venues/facilities, associations and clubs are required to complete this COVID Safe Plan and ensure it is implemented at open workplaces, venues and facilities.

Now though, it’s time to re-connect with your local Rugby club! Rugby Victoria will be promoting a series of opportunities to get back down to your local Rugby club over the coming weeks!

Junior Rugby (18 and Under)

Outdoor contact sport permitted for people 18 and under, limited to the minimum number of people required to play and facilitate the activity. One spectator per child is permissible for supervision purposes. Touch 7s Centres are now open as well including the Hawthorn Touch 7s centre.

Senior Rugby (19 and Over)
