An estimated 2000 spectators will attend the tournament across the two days. This is the fifth consecutive year of the tournament.

The event is supported by the State Government of Victoria and the City of Greater Bendigo.

Rugby Victoria are committed to building capacity within our rural regions and will offer local primary and secondary school game development programs in the week leading up to this event which would be led by the Rugby Victoria development team.

The event advocates active lifestyles with a focal point for appreciating and understanding cultural differences and community engagement in rural regions. The diverse nature of Rugby makes the tournament an ideal medium to reach men and women from every age-group, culture and socio-economic background within Rural Victoria, specifically in the City of Greater Bendigo providing a vehicle for social inclusion and community unity.

Chris Evans, General Manager Rugby Victoria said: “We are very grateful for the ongoing commitment from the City of Greater Bendigo.”

“The CFA Bendigo Goldfields 7s is now a marquee event in the Rugby Calendar with over 40 teams participating each year.

“I would like to thank the City of Greater Bendigo for their support of this wonderful event.”

City Tourism and Major Events Manager Terry Karamaloudis believes the CFA Bendigo Goldfields 7s event is a great way to encourage the development of rugby in the region and raise the profile of the sport.

“The City is delighted to be involved in the CFA Bendigo Goldfields 7s event,” Mr Karamaloudis said.
