U85kg Competition

Rugby Victoria, with Rugby Australia, are providing a new contact rugby offering to our community targeting school leavers and tertiary students in an U85kg weight category.

In 2025, Rugby Victoria launched a Pilot Competition for Senior Men's players to compete alongside and against other participants in a limited-weight competition. Having seen the popularity and success of a limited-weight senior contact rugby competitions in other nations, Rugby Victoria is leaning on these positive experiences to broaden our opportunity for all Victorians to enjoy our game in a variety of formats.

The U85kg competition will be returning in 2026 with two new clubs Harlequins and Moorabbin joining the existing four clubs Melbourne Unicorns, Melbourne University, Monash and defending champions Power House in a 6-week competition through February and March.
