Rugby Victoria are pleased to announce, preeminent investment and wealth management firm, Shaw and Partners as the major partner of academy teams managed by the Melbourne Rebels and Rugby Victoria, including the U16, U18, and U19 squads.

As part of the one-season deal, Shaw and Partners branding will feature on the front and back of the playing jerseys for all three academy squads.

In addition to the jersey branding, the arrangement will see Shaw and Partners activate at various events, as well as through digital and social media campaigns.

Rugby Victoria CEO, Chris Evans, said the partnership would provide some financial certainty at an uncertain time for grassroots programs in Victoria.

“Shaw and Partners have been a big supporter of Rugby in Victoria and having them join the Melbourne Rebels is the beginning of a long-term partnership between the two parties.”

“Our academy programs supported by Shaw and Partners will give our players the best opportunity to develop, succeed and represent their local community on the big stage.”

Shaw and Partners offer tailored advice and investment solutions, financial planning and corporate advisory services to individuals, institutions, corporates and charities.

“Shaw and Partners is pleased to be joining the Melbourne Rebels & Rugby Victoria as a partner” said Ben Morrissey, Senior Investment Adviser at Shaw and Partners, who was instrumental in brokering the sponsorship deal.

“Shaw and Partners will be supporting grassroots Rugby in Victoria by focusing on developing the Rebels academy teams. Providing local talent with the clear goal of becoming senior team members is a key consideration of the sponsorship”

We are excited to be part of this new initiative and look forward to the Rebels first home game at AAMI Park with the Super Round in February” Ben said.

Ben and Enrico Barbieri (Head of Marketing at Shaw and Partners) were presented with a signed jersey at the Rugby Victoria Community Awards Night at the Bells Hotel on Monday evening.
