Rugby Victoria July 10 Update

by Rugby Vic Media

Following the Premier’s announcement on 7 July, Rugby Victoria acknowledges that metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire will return to Stage 3 Stay at Home restrictions, effective from Wednesday 8 July at 11:59pm.

We understand the implications this will have on our Rugby community.

Effective immediately Rugby Victoria will suspend all RV Rugby activities in affected areas.

Rugby Victoria (RV) facilitated a meeting with Club Presidents on Thursday 9 July. There was overwhelming support from our club leaders to facilitate a community Rugby season during the Spring period.RV will undertake further scoping work over the next two weeks and will present a number of models and scenarios to clubs for their consideration.

RV is working closely with our Regional Clubs to facilitate a Regional Club competition which can go ahead for juniors and seniors and we will announce further information over the coming weeks.

The season will look different and feel different however together, RV and our clubs are committed to providing our community with the opportunity to play Rugby in 2020.

RV will continue to follow the advice of the State Government and Health Department. We look forward to sharing further updates with you over the coming weeks.

Stay safe, stay positive, stay home and stay connected.
