The two best performing sides of the year have made it to the Grand Final to decide who is the Premier Rugby team in Victoria.

After defeating Melbourne in the Semi Finals, Harlequins will be looking to repeat this performance in the Grand Final this weekend and reverse the result from the same game 12 months ago.

This young Quins side will be wanting to put an exclamation mark on their season, in a year where they have not been defeated.

Not only have they gone undefeated in 2017, they have also accumulated a near perfect season, securing 87 out of a possible 88 points.

The team has had a week off after their Semi Final win against the Unicorns, which they will hope will mean they will field a fresher side than their opposition.

Head Coach Pom Simona though has made sure his side has not lost focus and put his team through their paces with a big two weeks of training.

Harlequins will not only take a lot of confidence into the Grand Final from their stellar regular season, but will also enter the game with a spring in their step as they defeated Melbourne in their Semi Final meeting just two weeks prior.

They will want to be wary though of the strong finishing Unicorns, as Quins just defeated them by a converted try in the semi and Melbourne will be coming in hot after their come from behind victory over Box Hill.

The strengths of this Quins side lie in a number of key areas.

The sides backrow including 2017 Melbourne Rising Squad members Simei Kolio and Sione Taufa provide great go forward with ball in hand and are a constant threat around the breakdown.

The sides backline is also riddled with talent and size, with young Centre Eli Vole and winger Angelo Leaupepe giving the side an ability to break the line in attack and are part of a backline that is rarely broken in defence in 2017.

Harlequins will need these individuals to fire on the weekend if they wish to go all the way and secure the title.

The recent downside to their game, that was seen in the Semi Final, revolves around the team's ability to play for the full 80 minutes.

This was apparent against Melbourne where Quins pulled away on a number of occasions but let their guard down and allowed Melbourne back into the game.

This weakness in their game will need to be non-existent on Saturday as Melbourne proved in their Preliminary Final last weekend and the Grand Final in 2016 that they can come from anywhere to win a game.
