Rugby is back!
Rugby Victoria welcomes the announcement by the Victorian Government that stage four restrictions will be eased.
From 11.59pm Tuesday 27 July, the following restrictions will apply for community sport (for a two-week period):
Community sport:
- Open for all ages, training and competition. Density quotient of 1 person per 4sqm applies for indoor facilities.
- Limited to minimum number of people required to participate in and facilitate the activity (i.e. players, coaches, etc)
- Spectators not allowed (excludes people necessary for events such as teachers, instructors, trainers, coaches, umpires, carers, parents and guardians).
After consultation with Club Presidents, Rugby Australia and the Victorian Government, Rugby Victoria will recommence competitions (juniors and seniors) on Saturday 31 July.
Rugby Victoria will recommence the season by playing fixtures that were originally scheduled for 17 July (juniors and seniors) on 31 July.
The revised Senior Grand Final date is 11 September, and the revised Junior Grand Final date is 18 September.
Fixtures have been updated on Rugby Xplorer.
Rugby Victoria requests the community take notice of the restrictions regarding no spectators and we encourage clubs and affiliates to actively communicate this message with your members.
Please contact your club to find out when training is on this week.
Good luck to everyone this weekend.
