Following the matches on June 13, the “All In” phase of the Dewar and Ward Shield Season has concluded, with the Rugby Victoria Championship determining the clubs that will contest in the two competitions for the remainder of the 2026.

With results from both 1st Grade and 2nd Grade contributing to the final standings, the final positions ultimately came down to several Round 9 matchups.

Rugby Victoria Championship - Final Standings

Congratulations to Power House who has won Rugby Victoria Championship in 2026.

Melbourne Unicorns one-point win over the previously undefeated Harlequins in 2nd Grade secured their spot into Dewar Shield before kick-off in the 1st Grade.

And although Endeavour Hills secured maximum points against Kiwi Hawthorn in their final game, they fell agonisingly short of Dewar Shield qualification with one (1) point separating them and Footscray (who secured Dewar Shield in Round 8), and Melbourne University also securing enough competition points against Moorabbin in Round 9 to stay in the Dewar Shield.

Endeavour will join Box Hill, Brimbank, Moorabbin and Kiwi Hawthorn in the Ward Shield division in 2026, with Harlequins, Melbourne University, Melbourne Unicorns and Footscray all fighting with back-to-back reigning premiers Power House for the Dewar Shield.

Both divisions will play a further 4 games over 5 weeks, before a four-week finals series beginning on July 25.

All remaining fixtures have been updated across all senior grades which can be found on RugbyXplorer or attached below

Rugby Victoria will hold a meeting with all Dewar and Ward Shield clubs to confirm the structure for 2027 and beyond.
