The U14/U16 South East Boys School 7s Rugby Gala Day was held at Moorabbin Rugby Club last week with 8 teams from 6 schools participating throughout the day.
Contesting the U14 boy’s Grand Final were St Francis Xavier and Fountain Gate SC. St Francis Xavier was a new contender this year, showing some great speed and skill, however unfortunately not strong enough to take out Fountain Gate SC who won 47 – 0. Well done to both teams who will progress through to the State Championships at the end of August.
In the U16 boys, Fountain Gate SC and Hampton Park SC played a series of matches, with Fountain Gate SC winning all three to take out the win. Both teams will progress to the State Championships where they will get a chance to come up against some of the best from the West and North.
We would like to congratulate all participating schools in what was an exciting day of rugby 7s. On behalf of the Development Team we would like to thank all staff, referees and volunteers who helped with the running of the day and particularly extend our gratitude to the schools, teachers and players for participating in this event. Big thanks must also go to Moorabbin Rugby Club for hosting such an awesome day!
