The U14/U16 West Boys School 7s Rugby Gala Day was held at Power House Jnr Rugby Club last week with 12 teams from 9 schools participating throughout the day.
We would like to congratulate all participating schools in what was an exciting day of rugby 7s. What was particularly pleasing was the participation of schools who in the past had been heavily involved in our Gala Days, we look forward to having them back on board.
Contesting the U14 boy’s Grand Final were Kurunjang SC and The Grange P-12 College. The Grange had been strong all day and in an exciting final we saw them take home the win 26 - 7. Well done to both teams who will progress through to the State Championships at the end of August.
The teams who progressed to the U16’s boy’s Grand Final were Sunshine College and Wyndham Central College. Both teams had been strong through their pool games and this was no different in the Grand Final, where we saw Sunshine College just get the win 15 – 10. We look forward to seeing these two teams come up against each other at the State Championships.
On behalf of the Development Team we would like to thank all staff, referees and volunteers who helped with the running of the day and particularly extend our gratitude to the schools, teachers and players for participating in this event. Big thanks must also go to Power House Jnr Rugby Club, especially Jason Andrews, who ran the canteen and ensured everything ran smoothly.
