Strategic Plan

Rugby Victoria Strategic Plan
Rugby Victoria is pleased to release its Strategic Plan 2025 - 2029. Developed in partnership with our member clubs and key stakeholders, the Rugby Victoria Strategic Plan will guide the development of rugby union in Victoria.

The plan’s initiatives will be delivered by our team, with regular review and ongoing reporting to the Board, our members and the Victorian Rugby community.

We have a unique opportunity to reset the game in Victoria, with the chance to capitalise on the once-in-a-generation “golden decade of major events” for rugby in Australia. This is highlighted by the arrival of the British and Irish Lions in 2025, followed by the home men’s and women’s Rugby World Cups in 2027 and 2029 respectively, and the Olympic rugby sevens in 2032.

Reconnecting the rugby community in Victoria is a key priority, engaging everyone in our community to stabilise and grow the game so rugby can prosper here. Our financial stability and the delivery of brilliant rugby experiences for every participant will drive our decision-making. We understand that it is our rugby community that is best placed to help deliver our vision of “more Victorians participating, connecting and contributing to the global game of rugby union.” Engaging, attracting and building the capacity of our people and our community will be crucial to achieving this.

Embodying our values of Integrity, Respect, Passion, Discipline and Teamwork each day, we will work in partnership with our community, key stakeholders and Rugby Australia to deliver this strategy.
