Over the past week, Rugby Victoria has seen an increase in anti-social commentary and unsavoury language towards Rugby Vic staff, community Clubs and their players, and fellow users across our social media accounts.

While rivalry, passion and competition remain integral to our game, there is no place for vilification of any kind in rugby whether online or in-person. Rugby Victoria has a zero tolerance approach.

In particular, social media activity within our digital communities:

• must not contain material which is, or has the potential to be, offensive, aggressive, defamatory, threatening, discriminatory, obscene, profane, harassing, embarrassing, intimidating, sexually explicit, bullying, hateful, racist, sexist or otherwise inappropriate in English or in any other languages;

• should respect and maintain the privacy of others; and

• should promote the sport in a positive way.

Rugby Victoria has a duty of care to provide a safe and inclusive space for our online followers. As such, we have no other choice but to remove these comments and ban anti-social users from our page.

Please join us by doing your part to help make our game enjoyable for all.
