Melbourne could be looking at 3 straight defeats: Active Lens

The Meat Pie correctly predicted four from four last week, but as we cast our eye over these matches, it's a little harder to guess.

Match of the round (Livestreamed on the Rubgy Victoria Facebook page from 3pm) - Moorabbin vs Melbourne (Referee: Darren O’Brien)

What a match up this will be!

Moorabbin lost their unbeaten streak last week against a resurgent Eagles outfit in a seesaw intense battle that went down to the wire.

Melbourne lost the Bolton Trophy in a heavy defeat to fierce rival Harlequins in front of a huge crowd and have now lost two in a row.

Moorabbin now know their level and they can compete with the best teams in the comp. Their all round game is improving and they are finding threats across the park. They need to keep their discipline and a fast start is required to put the already under pressure Unicorns to the sword.

Melbourne will be looking to regroup but it doesn’t get any easier. They need to hold onto the ball and be more patient in attack to get their season back on track.

Moorabbin to inflict Melbourne’s 3rddefeat in a row and win by 8.

Endeavour vs Box Hill (Referee: Oli Kellett)

Endeavour are back at home this week after a snatch and grab against Moorabbin. They will be happy sharper shooter Moses Faaola is still on target as they scored 4 tries to Moorabbin 5 and his boot was the difference again.

This week they will look to shore up their defence against a Box Hill team looking to take their first big scalp of the season. They pushed Uni all the way last week but could not get the W they were after.

Box Hill are scoring tries but leaking them just as fast so defence will also be a focus for them.

Two good attacking sides will make for a great spectacle at the Nest but who controls the D line will be the winner.

Endeavour to go 4 in a row and beat Box Hill by 10 points

Power House vs Melbourne Uni (Referee: Amber McLachlan)

Power House are home this week after grabbing their first win last week against Footscray. After some close games, House will be glad to have banked 5 points and will be looking to stop the Uni push up the ladder.

They need to make the most of local support and their opportunities to put regular points on the board against a Uni side that are outsmarting teams and playing to their strengths.

Uni won in a tight game last week against Box Hill and are aiming for 3 in a row and maybe an early spot in the top four. Who masters the wind and uses it to their advantage will win this one.

House can’t let Lotu Aiuta control the kicking game or its lights out.

Uni to maintain momentum and win by 6 points

Harlequins vs Footscray (referee: Paul Candy)

The Quins return to Ashwood this week with a spring in their step after a convincing win against Melbourne to remain the only undefeated team in the Dewar shield. Harlequins looked fit and firing in their all white strip last week and with the added incentive of Angus Arundel playing his 100thgame the Doggies could be in for a long day at the office.

Footscray are competing in large chunks of the game but need to find more consistency to get some wins on the boards. They will feel they let one slip last week against Power House and will head to Ashwood knowing they need a solid defensive effort to challenge the home team.

They will get a great chance to learn against the current best team in the comp and if they can compete in their one on one matchups will feel they are making some big strides with their young team.

Harlequins to win by 20 plus
